It might be months until Christmas, but workers are already threatening to rebel if they do not get a festive party.
A study by Outsourced Events has revealed that 85 per cent of employees think a Christmas bash is an essential way to boost morale and reward their hard work.
People are also hoping their employer will splash out, with more than 55 per cent suggesting their company should spend at least £31 a head on a party.
However, 23 per cent fear that they could be left disappointed, predicting their employer will spend nothing at all.
Alexandra Sibley, director of Outsourced Events, warned that firms which believe they can cut costs by scrapping their party should think again.
She said: "A Christmas Do is a tradition in this country and one that the Great British working public are not willing to do without. There will certainly be scorn for those employers who don't [organise one]."
Meanwhile, those looking to get in to the festive spirit early might like to know that Bob Dylan is set to release a Christmas album next month.
Proceeds will be donated to the World Food Programme.
