The chief executive of the Big 4 accounting firm Deloitte has come out in support of a recent speech by President Bush reaffirming his open-door policy to foreign investment in the US.
Chief executive William G Parrett called the president's speech an important gesture to US trading partners and the market.
During the speech, Bush encouraged other nations around the globe to follow the lead of the US in opening their doors to investment.
Mr Parrett said: "This is the first time in some 15 years that the US has made such a high-level reaffirmation of the importance of open markets.
"Business sees US government leadership as critical to preserving open markets and I applaud the president's commitment announced today."
Last month Mr Parrett urged leaders at the G8 meeting in Berlin to keep their border open to stimulate international business.
Meanwhile, Deloitte has been enlisted by Metronet in their worsening conflict over cost overruns with London Underground
