Ernst & Young (E&Y) has won the Exceptional Achievement accolade at 2009's Managing Partners' Forum European Practice Management Awards in London.
The company walked off with the prize for its efforts in integrating all of its 87 practices across Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa.
Accepting the award, Steven Varley, head of markets in the UK and Ireland at E&Y, explained that the move had helped the firm weather the worst of the economic downturn.
He said: "The decision to integrate 87 country practices reflects the increasingly global nature of our borderless business environment, which has changed the expectations of our clients and our people and requires nothing less than a truly global approach from our organisation."
The move also allowed the company to set new standards in the professional services sector.
Recently, E&Y published a study which revealed that global financial services firms expect growth to return to the sector during the first half of next year.
