KPMG lands two accountancy awards KPMG has landed two accolades at the Accountancy Age Awards 2009.

The firm was given the Audit Team of the Year and Business Recovery Project of the Year titles at a ceremony in London.

The latter award related to KPMG's work on a company voluntary arrangement (CVA) for JJB Sports, while the former was in recognition of the company's well received efforts for the Audit Commission.

Richard Bennison, chief operating officer at KPMG, said: "We were delighted to receive this recognition. Quality of service and innovation are two attributes that are absolutely paramount to KPMG, and these awards recognise that."

The firm's work for the Audit Commission achieved a satisfaction score of 70 per cent, the highest for any company employed by the independent body.

KPMG's work for JJB Sports also impressed the judges who said that the CVA had created a "sustainable future" for the high street chain.

Earlier this year, KPMG appointed Rachael Campbell as its global head of people to help ensure it remains an attractive place to develop an accountancy career.
