Huet named as new CFO at Unilever Consumer products company Unilever has appointed Jean-Marc Huet as the company's new chief financial officer (CFO).

The news comes after much speculation as to who would take on the position following current CFO Jim Lawrence's announcement last week that after two years in the role he would be stepping down.

"I am extremely pleased to welcome Jean-Marc to Unilever. His experience in the corporate and financial world will be a great asset to the business," said Unilever chairman Michael Treschow.

Mr Huet will be leaving pharmaceuticals company Bristol-Myers Squibb, where he is executive vice president and CFO, to begin his role at Unilever in January 2010.

Before joining Bristol-Myers Squibb he had experience working within the food sector, through his position as CFO at baby-food specialist Numico. Mr Huet was also executive director of Investment Banking Services at Goldman Sachs International.

Unilever has seen success recently, with shares in the company rising 0.9 per cent in London. The business's third quarter results, which were published earlier this month, showed an underlying sales growth of 3.4 per cent.
