Micro-blogging service Twitter has revealed that its first chief financial officer (CFO) will be Ali Rowghani.
Mr Rowghani is currently a chief financial officer at Walt Disney's Pixar animation studios.
He will leave the role he has held at Pixar since 2001 to join the social networking site in March.
"Ali will be an important member of a growing team focused on creating value for our users and capturing the financial opportunities that result from it," Twitter chief executive officer Evan Williams said.
The decision to recruit a CFO makes up part of the company's bigger money-making drive. It was first announced that the firm was looking to hire a CFO last July.
Twitter's wider plan involves it exploring different ways to increase its revenue including introducing premium rate services and advertising.
A takeover offer for $500 million (£321 million) from social networking website Facebook was rejected by Twitter in 2008.
