Customers of Australian bank Westpac from New Zealand and Australia that are living in the UK will benefit from a new branch that is to open in London
Brits planning to emigrate will also benefit from the new branch, which will enable them to open a bank account before leaving the country, Embrace Australia reported.
Before moving to Australia, Brits will be able to get new mortgages and credit cards approved at the branch too.
London was chosen as a location for the new branch as it is a popular destination with Australians and Kiwis that are looking to live and work in the UK.
The first London-based branch of Westpac was opened in 1853. Despite a further two branches being established there after, a banking review suggesting the company's operations in Europe should be slimmed down resulted in them being closed in the late 1990s.
At the Davos World Economic Forum earlier this year, Westpac was the only Australian bank singled out as one of the most sustainable corporations in the world.
