KPMG and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC UK) have been listed as top 10 organisations in this year’s Business in the Community
Corporate Responsibility (CR) Index.
The Index, which is described by Business in the Community as “the UK’s leading voluntary benchmark of Corporate Responsibility (CR)”, acts to identify those organisations most concerned with the impact their business has on a social and environmental level.
Big 4 firms KPMG and PwC UK have been awarded the performance brand of ‘Platinum Plus’, which is reserved for organisations that consider long-term sustainability as part of their commercial business strategy.
In particular, KPMG was recognised for getting rid of certain short-haul flights, employee volunteering schemes, and moving to environmentally sound offices in Canary Wharf.
The Chief Executive of Business in the Community, Stephen Howard, commented: “Companies participating in the Index may all be at different stages of their responsible business journey, but they have demonstrated that they take these issues seriously and are leading the field in ensuring this is just how they do business.”
The full results, analysis and commentary of the Corporate Responsibility Index have been published in June’s Financial Times Responsible Business supplement.
