Elms to head media division

Elms to head media division KPMG has announced that it has appointed partner David Elms as the new head of its UK Media Practice.

Mr Elms has worked for the Big 4 accountancy firm since leaving university in 1984, with the last 15 years spent as part of the specialist corporate finance media team.

During that time he has been involved as an advisor in a number of high-profile takeovers, including deals for both public and private companies.

Mr Elms said he was looking forward to building on that experience after stepping up to his new role at a time when the media industry is going through a period of rapid change.

"Our experience … places us in a unique position to advise our clients as they embrace these challenges and ensure that their businesses are positioned for continued and sustained growth," he added.

Earlier this month KPMG was named as the Best Big Company To Work For by the Sunday Times - the second time in four years it has won the award.
