KPMG has announced the appointment of Stephen Gallagher as a partner in its forensic technology division.
The team specialises in analysing the data involved in forensic investigations and Mr Gallagher joins the Big 4
accountancy firm having already gained considerable experience in the field.
Earlier in his career he spent time in the business intelligence practices of both KPMG Consulting and IBM Global Services, but his most recent role was as head of European business intelligence for Accenture.
The forensic practice is one of the fastest-growing parts of KPMG's UK operation, with fee income having risen from £30 million in 2005 to £53 million last year, and Mr Gallagher said it is an exciting time to be joining the firm.
"KPMG's vision on the application and potential of analytics was central to my coming here," he said.
News of the appointment comes just days after partner David Elms was promoted to head up KPMG's UK media practice.
