New EMEA head of tax at Deloitte Deloitte has named David Sproul as the new head of tax for its Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.

Mr Sproul will move from his current job as head of tax in the UK to which he was appointed in 2006. He is also a member of the UK firm's executive management team and board.

He spoke about his appointment, saying: " Tax has always been international, but is increasingly so.

"As our clients increasingly operate and trade globally, it is important that we are well placed to ensure they benefit from Deloitte's collective tax expertise across the EMEA region and beyond."

The global head of tax for Deloitte, Alberto Terol, spoke of Mr Sproul's significant experience providing strategic services to some of the company's most important global tax clients. He concluded that the appointment will play a key role in Deloitte's ambition to be the world's leading tax adviser.
