A panel of financial leaders has chosen KPMG for a major industry award.

The company has been named International Firm of the Year at the Scottish Accountancy Awards.

It was chosen by a combination of important financial and business figures, along with readers of the Scottish Business Insider magazine.

Craig Anderson, head of KPMG in Scotland, spoke of his delight at the award, calling it a tribute to the "hard work, commitment and professionalism" of the firm's staff in the country.

"Our people work together to make a tangible difference to the success of our clients' businesses and to make a positive impact in the communities in which we live," added Mr Anderson.

KPMG has recently been given platinum recognition in the Business in the Community Corporate Responsibility Index.

The index analyses company's business practises across several areas including the environment, workplace and community. Platinum is the top tier for which a firm can be recognised.
