The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has appointed three new senior advisors to its wholesale and institutional business unit.

Jeremy Bennett, David Smith and Simon Stockwell will all bring key market experience to the unit.

Mr Smith has most recently been the senior partner for forensic accounting for Big 4 firm KPMG. He has previously managed the firm's offices in the Middle East and London.

Sally Dewar, managing director of wholesale and institutional markets for the FSA, said that the appointments will provide the unit with a new understanding of developments within the industry.

"These appointments further underline the FSA's commitment to having the right mix of people with market experience and regulatory backgrounds in the organisation," she added.

In other news, KPMG has unveiled Tim Roff as its new head of insurance actuarial services. Mr Roff will join KPMG from fellow Big 4 firm Ernst and Young.
