The wages for candidates prepared to move within the City
financial sector have risen by almost five per cent in the last month.
Research from City recruiter Joslin Rowe has found that the average salary for people moving to a new job in May was £39,766, up 4.79 per cent from April.
The reports also shows that temporary workers are benefiting from increasing wages, with the average hourly rates for contract employees in the
accountancy and
finance sectors standing at £29.76. The figure is a rise of 11.84 per cent from last year.
Managing director of Joslin Rowe, Tara Ricks, said that candidates who are prepared to move in the current economic climate are "being rewarded for their bravery".
"Competition for top financial talent is considerable and the salary rises in a number of sectors speak for themselves," she added.
During May, Joslin Rowe was named Best Office Support Recruitment Agency at the UK recruiter awards.
