Walkabout owners bring in accountants Regents Inn, who operates the Australian-themed sports-bar chain Walkabout has brought in its accountants to examine the struggling business.

BDO Stoy Hoyward has been hired to evaluate the future of the pub business and Regents is also in consultation with banks including RBS, Barclays, NatWest and HSBC.

The latest set of figures for the company shows a debt of around £80 million with Regent's market value just short of £4 million.

A number of "negative factors" including the smoking ban and England's absence from Euro 2008 have been blamed for a lack in profits among leisure companies across the UK.

Brewer Carlsberg recently revealed that it sold more than £1.5 million litres of beer in its Fanzones during Euro 2008 in Austria and Switzerland.
