Some firms to continue recruiting

12 March 2010In Graduates

Some firms to continue recruiting A recent survey has found that a small number of UK companies plan to continue their recruitment drives over the coming three months.

According to the Manpower quarterly employment survey, the proportion of firms recruiting has not changed in comparison to the first three months of the year, leading to fears of a "jobless" recovery.

While any positive news should be celebrated, Brits should still regard the prospects of the recruitment market with caution, a Jobsite spokesperson said.

"The recession hit many organisations hard and with quite sudden force so it's no surprise to see the return to recruiting being slow and cautious," he explained.

A total of eight per cent of employers plan to increase their staff roll in the next quarter, while seven per cent predict a decrease.

The remaining 84 per cent are not planning any change and the Jobsite spokesperson added that the IT and design sectors are likely to be among the biggest recruiters in the near future.ADNFCR-868-ID-19666464-ADNFCR
