Free visitor pre-registration opens for Accounting Live

This November will see the much-anticipated launch of Accounting Live at Glasgow’s SEC. The two-day event runs alongside The Scottish Business Exhibition on 1st and 2nd November and offers Scottish accountants and finance professionals a unique opportunity to discover the latest industry innovations and network with their peers. More than sixty exhibitors are already in place, including show partners Intuit QuickBooks and Microsoft, and there will be more than a hundred industry leading suppliers showcasing their latest solutions come November. On the door entry will be £20, but visitors can get their tickets for free by registering online now.

80+ seminars and workshops

The CPD accredited conference programme will be a comprehensive source of guidance and up-to-date information. They’ll cover a wide range of topics including innovation, cloud accounting, pensions, digital tax, technology, legislation, growth and profitability. The growing list of keynote speakers includes

Gary Turner

Gary Turner, Xero UK, co-founder and managing director will be exploring recent research into the changing landscape of accountants and small business owners, and Xero’s vision of what the accounting industry will look like in the future.

 

Douglas Fraser

Douglas Fraser asses the state of Scottish and British economies, and the questions facing them, at a time when the constitutional politics of Brexit and Scottish independence pose unprecedented challenges.

 

Steve Pipe

Steve Pipe will be explaining how accountants can earn more and work less, with a simple three-step solution. Jacquie Mount

Jacquie Mount, Head of Awards at the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers joins the workshop hall to consider Making Tax Digital and how it will affect you with an in-depth look at the on-going developments at HMRC with the emphasis on Making Tax Digital and the changing role of the bookkeeper/accountant.

Supported by industry bodies and leading organisations

Since registration opened on the show website just over a month ago, more than 1,500 professionals have registered for their tickets. The show is being actively promoted both north and south of the border by a broad range of partners including ACCA, Xero User Magazine, The Federation of Tax Advisers, The Institute of Certified Bookkeepers, The Institute of Financial Accountants, The Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals, the Association of International Accountants and whole host of other associations and networking organisations. The event will be by far the largest of its kind ever to take place in Scotland and is expected to attract around 3,000 visitors, cementing a place on the Scottish Business Calendar alongside the co-located, and free to attend, Scottish Business Exhibition.

Location: Hall 4 at The SEC Glasgow

Date: 1st and 2nd November, with the doors opening at 10 am.

Tickets: There will be an entry fee on the door of £20 for anyone without a pre-registered ticket. Registration for free, full access, VIP tickets is currently open online at www.accountinglive.co.uk. Both the free and paid tickets provide access to all the suppliers, seminars and workshops.
