MAG (The Mines Advisory Group)

About MAG (The Mines Advisory Group)

The Mines Advisory Group (MAG) is a humanitarian organisation that finds, removes and destroys landmines, unexploded bombs and cluster munitions from locations around the world affected by conflict.

Additionally, we provide educational services and programmes to children and adults that teach how to live, work and play as safely as possible in areas that have yet to be cleared of mines and explosives.

Established in 1989 by Rae and Lou McGrath, we have since assisted more than 18 million people in 68 countries, helping them to rebuild their lives and livelihoods in the aftermath of war. As a founding member of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines, we shared the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize.

With the firm belief that it is unacceptable for millions to be trapped in danger and poverty after wars that have long ended, our goal is to help communities get on with their lives and build for their futures.
