Ball Aerocan Devizes, part of Ball Aerocan Europe, leverages its diverse manufacturing capabilities to deliver best-in-class aerosol packaging to our customers worldwide in the personal care and pharmaceutical sectors. Its well invested site in Devizes, employs c150 people with a turnover of £27m p.a. and has seen a significant increase in volume in the last 12 months.

An exceptional opportunity has now arisen for a Financial Controller to join this fast moving environment.  Reporting to the Plant Manager and forming part of the senior team on site, this role combines a practical, hands-on remit with strategic input.  You will be responsible for the timely reporting of the site’s financial performance including monthly, quarterly and annual accounts, preparation of site budgets and forecasts and supporting the Site strategic plans.  Through the leadership and development of a team of 2, you will ensure the smooth running of day to day financial operations.  You will also report functionally to the European Finance Director.

With a proactive ‘best cost, best value’ approach you will help identify opportunities in the plant to make improved operational decisions, working with the site team to deliver and exceed performance targets, supporting EVA growth and ensuring margin maximisation.

A qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or MBA, you must have proven financial experience gained in a fast moving manufacturing environment, with the ability to demonstrate strong communication and people management skills.  The successful candidate will ideally have experience of both UK and US GAAP, and exposure to an international and matrix environment would be useful.  SAP experience is preferred, together with a strong proficiency in Excel.
