Financial Accountant, West London

My client are a Logistics business based in Middlesex, actively seeking a strong Financial Accountant to join their finance team. Responsibilities will include taking ownership of the accounting for their subsidiaries based on IFRS and local GAAP principles, and ensuring compliance with relevant internal controls.

This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a practice audit background to move into industry and work with an impressive leadership team to develop their skilll set.

Key Accountabilities:

• Production of year-end consolidated financial statements under IFRS
• Production of individual subsidiary/branch financial statements under local GAAP
• Ownership of the Group’s consolidation system
• Being the key point of contact for our external auditors
• Advising on financial reporting issues and the implication on the Group’s financial statements
• Improving the year-end close and quality of deliverables to external advisors
• Managing statutory submissions and working to ensure that all submissions are on time, accurate and compliant

The successful candidate will be:

• Professional UK accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA), obtained either in practice, or in industry with a financial accounting background
• Strong technical expertise in IFRS, including latest accounting standards
• Understanding of a year-end auditing process, and previous involvement desirable
• Experience of preparing IFRS compliant statutory accounts, and use of relevant software packages desirable
• Strong people skills, including verbal communications, influencing and presentation skills, with ability to communicate with both senior management and non-technical audiences
• Tenacity and drive to overcome challenges
• Logical approach to problem solving
• A team player with the ability to work on own initiative
