Band 8a Cost Accountant

Sellick Partnership are currently recruiting for an 8A Cost Accountant to join an NHS organisation in the East Midlands.

Reporting into the Corporate Finance Manager, you will be responsible for:
-Managing the production of costing information in the Trust including the implementation and development of costing systems that will support the production of statutory Reference Cost Specialty Cost Returns
-Managing and continuing the development of Service Line Reporting (SLR) structure within the Trust
-Developing and training an Assistant Cost Accountant (Band 5)
-Production of the integrated Education & Training Reference Cost Submission
-Leading the development of Patient Level Costing in line with the national roadmap as set out by NHSI
-Representing the Trust at the East Midlands Costing Group.

Skills, knowledge and Experience required:

-CCAB Qualified
-Accuracy and clarity in presentation of work with Report writing and presentation skills
-Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and respond flexibly and quickly to change
-High level of numeracy and IT skills with a detailed knowledge of databases and costing systems.
-Comprehensive understanding of NHS financial environment, General ledger and ancillary finance systems
-Excellent planning and organisational skills in order to manage conflicting demands from numerous seniors staff
-Understanding and appreciation of organisation structure, business strategy and work of other departments
-Experience of costing in a large organisation
-Ability to demonstrate strategic thinking in complex areas with a good awareness of the wider implications of actions
