The Role

Robert Half Taxation are hiring for a Tax Accountant position with a leading publishing business based in Cambridge. This is a newly-created, permanent, full-time position.

Reporting into the Financial Accounting Manager, the Tax Accountant will fulfil a stand-alone, group-wide tax specialist role, covering all areas of taxation that affect the business globally.

Though weighted to compliance there will be a large amount of time spent on project work and on advising the business on it's tax affairs.

The role is biased towards VAT and indirect taxes, but also includes corporate tax, employment tax, R&D tax and Transfer Pricing.

Further responsibilities include acting as the key point of contact for HMRC, for assisting systems integrations from a tax perspective, and for establishing and improving tax processes and controls.

 

Your Profile

The company is looking for a qualified tax specialist who holds a recognised tax or accounting qualifications (CTA / ACA / ACCA / ICAS / CIMA).

It is essential to have prior experience in indirect taxes gained either from working at a mid-to-large practice or from working in industry in a tax-specialist position (VAT, EC sales, intrastat reporting).

Experience in other areas such as corporate tax is beneficial but is not strictly required.

Salary & Benefits

Salary is between £45,000 and £55,000 + bonus and benefits package.
