Group Accountant

This is an opportunity for a bright, driven person with a technical accounting background to make a career in the Group finance team of a business with an impressive growth rate, with £400m turnover and operating in 41 countries.

In addition to core technical accounting skills, the successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to take ownership of projects, identify areas of improvements, provide solutions and be able to carrying these through to implementation.

You will be responsible for:

• Prepare monthly consolidations for a group of 60 companies / branches
• Prepare quarterly group consolidated statutory accounts for the bank
• Prepare statutory accounts for 12 UK companies
• Prepare corporation tax returns for 12 UK companies
• Manage the process of intercompany recharges and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with transfer pricing regulations
• Work closely with the Treasury Manager to identify and resolve intercompany issues
• Maintain reconciliations between management accounts and statutory accounts
• Review monthly submissions from subsidiary companies, identifying areas of incompleteness, error or risk
• Provide feedback, training and support to Regional finance teams as required
• Assist Group Financial Accountant in implementing new processes and procedures across the group
• Assist Group Financial Accountant in monitoring and managing the global tax position
• Assist as required to ensure the smooth running of the year-end audit
• Support the Group Financial Accountant in delivering projects across the group

You will be able to demonstrate:

• Experience of working in a large international organisation will be an advantage, as will the willingness to travel.
• ACA or ACCA qualified
• Big4 experience desired but not essential
