Medical Accountant. Our client, a Leicester based Accountancy Practice has engaged Paul Mitchell Associates to recruit an AAT Qualified or Part Qualified or Qualified by experience Accountant to join its team on a Permanent basis. You will ideally possess experience in preparing accounts for GP practices (Doctors), but this is not essential. Being career minded, enthusiastic, professional in your approach, you will report to a Manager or Partner and be expected to carry out the following;

* Managing a portfolio of clients consisting of GP surgeries, medical centres and individual General Practitioners
* Preparing GP client accounts and working paper files to a high standard, within agreed timescales
* Preparing, submitting and providing advice on personal tax returns and pension certificates
* Assisting in the development of the specialist services offered and the delivery of those services to the medical sector
* Preparation of management accounts for GP clients
* Significant travel to client premises for meetings and information gathering
* Preparation of VAT returns, bookkeeping and other services as required by clients
* Achieving the required number of CPD points to maintain personal professional qualifications
The ideal candidate will be:
* Three years AAT qualified or qualified by experience in accounting/finance
* Looking for a new challenge and have enthusiasm about working in a new sector
* A quick learner to absorb sector specific information and standards
* Able to work in a busy, open plan environment to strict deadlines and with minimal supervision (once trained)
* Keen to exceed client expectations and deliver great customer service at all times
* Knowledge of IRIS and Sage would be beneficial but must be computer literate with main Microsoft software
* Sector experience would be a huge bonus but training will be provided
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must
This is a great chance to showcase your excellent planning and organising skills, strong communication skills, innovative thinking and initiative. You will need a good working knowledge of Sage accounts and payroll, and preferably IRIS GP accounts, and be competent with Word and Excel.
