Interim Financial Controller

Interim Financial Controller/Project Accountant– Central Bristol - £225 – 275 per day

Element Recruitment are partnering exclusively alongside a dynamic SME client to recruit an Interim Financial Controller/Project Accountant. This is very autonomous role working within a close-knit finance function partnering closely with the Finance Director through an interesting period of change.

The role

The role of Interim Finance Controller/Project Accountant will include;

• Process improvement - Review current team processes, understand purpose, propose improvement to streamline, simplify and eradicate risk of manual error, write up and instill best practice. Examples include:
• Chargeback process
• Review of current processes to sense check that numbers are correct – eg Deferred income. 
• Complete the ‘new management pack’ – by adding in the automation of cashflow and balance sheet. To also build in forecasting cash-flow and b/s.
• Review and management of costs & overheads – understand our costs, and keep under control.
• Introduce ‘project’ accounting – better tracking of project costs re budget and introduce monthly regular review
• Purchase ledger process – review, improve and document.
• Ad-hoc analysis and support for FD.

The Profile

• Ideally qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, ACMA) or equivalent experience
• Strong Excel Skills (ability to analyse and interpret large sets of data)
• Strong interpersonally with an ability to engage with finance/non-finance staff
• Ideally 1-2 years experience within a similar position
• Experience of working within a fast-paced SME environment

What’s on offer

For the successful Financial Controller this position will offer a competitive rate of between £225-275 per day. This particular position will be required for the next 6-9 months.
