Assistant Management Accountant

Due to internal promotion, a well-known brand has an opportunity for an Assistant Accountant. This role will offer an excellent range of exposure across financial reporting, management accounting and commercial analysis and is therefore suited to someone who is studying towards CIMA/ACCA and is looking for a role which will complement their studies.

This business has a reputation for delivering on career advancement promises - a number of their key Finance staff have been promoted through the ranks and they offer a comprehensive study package (including day release).

Working closely with the Divisional Finance Manager you will be involved in:

- Producing monthly figures including balance sheet reconciliations, accruals/prepayments and written commentary highlighting variances
- Providing input into forecasts by division and assisting with capital investment appraisals working closely with operational staff
- Preparing budgets and dealing with ad hoc requests for information
- VAT returns
- Intrastat reporting
- Calculating profit split for sectional reporting
- Reporting P&L and analysis variances against budget

This is an interesting role which will give you excellent exposure across the business as well as the opportunity to visit divisional sites across the North of England.

To be considered for this role you should have a sound academic background, at least AAT qualified and ideally working towards CIMA/ACCA study. You should already have a solid grounding in most aspects of accounts administration and be a proven self-starter who has taken advantage of any opportunity to advance within their current post. Strong IT and excel skills are also required, and experience within a medium to large sized company would be advantageous.
