My client is a London listed Natural Resources business based in London who are now seeking the addition of a Group Financial Accountant to join their London Head Office.
The purpose of the role will be to work with the Group Financial Controller and other members of the Group Finance team in providing monthly and year-end financial consolidated results and reporting.
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with a Big 4 accountancy practice background and experience of Natural Resources either through auditing them or from working in the extractive sector.
You will be an excellent financial accountant with a proven track record of strong technical accounting skills and possess extensive knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP.
The successful incumbent will possess excellent interpersonal skills and be adept at interacting with individuals at all levels in the organisation.
Main duties will consist of assisting with the technical research, drafting and preparation of Group Accounting policies and procedures as well as:
- Assisting in the preparation of the monthly consolidated reporting and Board report ensuring adherence with current Company guidelines and policies as well as recommended accounting practice.
- Assisting in the administration of the financial consolidation system and monthly close activities.
- Assistance with working with the Business Unit finance teams in resolving any issues or queries and in ensuring the monthly consolidation is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assisting with the technical research, drafting and preparation of Group Accounting policies and procedures
- Coordination and preparation of the Year end Group and annual statutory reporting processes
- Assisting with one-off business transactions and projects as required
