Financial Controller

A local, award winning, IT and communications company based in Exeter are recruiting for an experienced accountant to join them as Financial Controller. This will be a pivotal role ensuring the senior management team are provided with complete month end reporting and cash flow information on a timely basis. Managing a small finance team you will report directly to the Operations Director, where you will be able to add value to the business with your experience and insight.
Duties to include:
- Monthly finance reporting: presentation of balance sheet, profit and loss, and Cash flows
- Monthly management accounts: budget reporting with variance analysis and commentary
- Ledger management, month end routines and reconciliations
- Supervision of small accounting team
- Process improvement
You will be a confident and outgoing accountant, ideally qualified or studying towards a full accountancy qualification with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and provide clear and concise information. You will have a desire to become an integral part of the business with a view to looking at ways to improve systems and processes to enable meaningful change.
On offer there is a competitive salary, up to £35,000 with other benefits (Pension, Parking) for a full time role, there is also the possibility to work reduced hours (30 hours per week). This is a permanent opportunity but preference will be given to those able to start at short notice on a temp to perm basis.
