Elevation Recruitment Group are recruiting on a exclusive basis for a successful and respected manufacturing business with operations in Poland, US, China, Spain as well as the UK. They have a group annual turnover of around £280 Million and have further growth planned. Due to a recent restructure of the department they are currently looking for an Finance Team Leader for their head office location in Rotherham.
This will be a varied role, reporting to a Financial Controller and will involve overseeing the purchase and sales ledger functions and three staff members.
Key responsibilities will include:
Purchase ledger
*Accurate processing of invoices whilst adhering to set procedures
*Identification of problems and where possible resolving of these
*Ensure distribution rules are kept up to date
*Preparation and completion of weekly international and bi-weekly UK supplier payments
Sales ledger
*Processing of receipts adhering to set procedures
*Follow up with customers prior to overdue debts
*Investigate the creditworthiness of potential new customers
*Monitor, review and amend credit limits for existing customers
General
*Supervise and oversee the work of 3 ledger clerks
*Ensure the accurate recording of financial transactions
*Ensure adherence to all financial/internal controls
*Keeping written departmental procedures up to date
*Provide general assistance in the finance department
*Develop, set targets and monitor performance of the team
*Look for ways to improve processes, procedures and systems
*Ad-hoc work dependant upon the requirements of the Financial Controllers
To be successful you MUST have the following skills and experiences:
*At least 3 - 5 years previous accounts experience
*Previous supervisory experience
*Ability to manage and prioritise team's workload
*AAT qualification or studying towards AAT (highly desirable)
*Ability to deal with complex reconciliations, investigations and query resolution from start to finish
*IT Skills including ability to utilise MS Office & Windows environment
*Ability to use an integrated accounts package
*Demonstrate knowledge of accounting principles to understand the role of the finance department
*Hard working & target driven
*Excellent communication skills
*Previous experience implementing and improving systems would be a distinct advantage
