Job Title: Management Accountant - Financial Reporting SME
Location: Milton Keynes
Duration: 2 Months
Rate: £400/day - £450/day
My client, a global consulting organisation have been engaged on a project to assess the feasibility of integrated Financial Reporting for a Group Finance function. A Management Accountant with Financial Reporting expertise is required to work alongside a team of Management Consultants and IT Consultants.
Role:
- As SME management accountant, work alongside a team of Management Consultants and IT consultants (more functional than technical) (in Oracle Projects Accounting, Hyperion…)
- Understand AS-IS financial reporting processes for creation of various management accounting and transactional reports -Identify process and system issues and help (as SME for finance/reporting processes) in building recommendations to resolve issues that induce delay of production and maintenance of integrated business plans and budgets, inhibit providing timely, specialist financial advice and commentary to Group Finance to address requirements emanating from regulators, from periodic and ad-hoc requests
- Identify issues in existing financial reporting practices, processes and reports (e.g. monthly financial information, trend analysis, interpretation, analysis)
- Suggest improvements in processes and systems that support Group Finance stakeholders to enable them provide improved and integrated information to their internal and external stakeholders
- Aid in conducting gap analysis of the As-Is reporting requirements vis-à-vis To-Be reporting requirements
- Advise team on the target state integrated reporting framework taking into account aspects of data relationships, data entities, system of records etc.
Skills:
- Excellent experience of having worked in Finance processes, controlling processes, reporting
- Excellent experience in project environments across multi-assets and multi-funds and project accounting
- Very good analytical skills, communication skills (both verbal and written), very good stakeholder management skills and the ability to work in large teams, as well as the ability to lead small consulting and business analysis teams
- Experience of working in intense consulting environments
- Accounting qualifications such as ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent is desirable
- Advanced User (upto expert) of using tools leveraged by Controllers (BI, hyperion, MS-Excel, SQL, Access, ERPs) and Finance teams
