Assistant Financial Accountant - Part Qualified

THE COMPANY:

Brewster Pratap are recruiting an experienced part qualified Assistant Financial Accountant for a large Sheffield based organisation. They are close to public transport links and commutable from Chesterfield and Rotherham.

THE JOB:

The main purpose of the role is to assist the Financial Accountant in the control of the company financial functions.

Controlling and maintaining timely preparation of the monthly overhead costs for reporting purposes
Preparing and controlingl the monthly balance sheet to comply with Group requirements
Provision of P+L and cost reporting
Analysing and producing cost variance reports for cost budget holders
Performing month-end reconciliations to maintain accurate figures in key financial systems
To supply all statistics requested by government bodies and Management
Providing all VAT information for completion of the Group VAT return
Updating and maintaining the fixed asset register
Reconciling inter-company accounts
Maintaining and reconciling cashbooks
Monitoring and maintaining the financial ledgers transaction controls
Calculating retrospective discounts and distribution fees due from suppliers and invoice in line with trading agreements and terms for each supplier
Monitoring and payment of retrospective discount agreements with a range of customers
Line managing, appraise performance and training a small team of Accounts Clerks
Other ad hoc projects as required

THE PERSON:

Previous experience is essential
The succesful candidate will be currently studying towards a professional accounting qualification
You must be computer literate with working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets
Good time keeping, communication and management skills are required
