Elevation Recruitment Group are currently recruiting for a driven and ambitious Management Accountant for a leading multinational service provider based in Hull.
The primary purpose of the role will be to take on responsibility for general ledger transactions in respect of revenue, cost of sales, margin and SG&A items in order to enable timely and accurate period close and accurate reporting.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Responsible for management and maintenance of general ledger for cost centres within assigned companies, including timely and accurate processing of items and adjustments
* Prepare and post general ledger journals for salaries and overheads, including accruals and prepayments as appropriate
* Ensure month end procedures are properly executed and completed in line with agreed timetables, (including payroll, stock provisions, PO and GRNI accruals, prepayments and accruals for property and service contracts)
* Review profit and loss and balance sheet accounts for assigned companies and cost centres, ensuring reported performance fairly reflects the underlying performance of the business and its position at the balance sheet date
* Prepare and distribute reporting for internal customers
* Routine analysis, reporting and GL maintenance for all SG&A
* Carry out balance sheet reconciliations for all assigned balance sheet accounts. Review, investigate and resolve reconciling items
* Provide input to statutory reporting and tax packs as necessary
* Keep manager updated on process and / or accounting issues
* Build positive relationships with Financial Business Partners, Finance Directors and essential contacts within the business
The successful candidate will require the following:
* CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualification
* Knowledge in general ledger accounting under IFRS and UK GAAP
* Proven track record of process improvement
* Strong IT skills, including Excel and preferably SAP
