Head of Finance

The Institute is seeking to appoint a Head of Finance, reporting to and working closely with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Only candidates with a recognised accountancy qualification and substantial experience of working in higher education need apply. The person appointed must be able to complete quarterly management accounts and final accounts through to audit.

The person appointed will lead a small finance team and must be able to work with very senior staff in a strategic way, preparing budgets forecasts, managing externally funded projects, monthly salaries and providing financial information to HEFCE, QAA , HESA and other government bodies. Prepare the End of Year accounts and manage the external audit.

The Head of Finance post requires a highly motivated person, an independent thinker with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills who can take charge of a well-run finance section. The Institute is in a strong financial position and will in time seek Degree Awarding Powers and University Title.
