Finance Manager

Owner-managed business (SME) that have seen turnover increase by >20% year on year since 2012 have a newly created position for an ambitious Management Accountant. As number 2 to a hugely talented and progressive FD you will enjoy gaining a highly valuable commercial insight (alongside development of you commercial accounting skills). The FD is looking for a 'rising-star' who will be pushing for more experience and exposure on a weekly basis. Career development and progression needs to be firmly on your radar to be considered for this role.
The day job:
Management Accounts preparation. P&L, BS and cashflows. It is important that you will be looking to get out into the business to understand the numbers and be able to add a meaningful commentary that will provide insight to trends and variances.
Budgeting and forecasting (supporting the FD initially but taking full responsibility after 6 months).
Commercial analysis and reporting - providing MI around performance.
Mentoring and developing the clerical finance team (3).
System improvement.
Ensuring all aspects of the month end calendar are well-mapped and completed accurately and on time.

The business are investing in diversification through new markets. You will be involved in new project / product / market assessment and there is high likelihood of acquisition involvement.

You will be:
AAT Qualified (or equivalent) studying toward ACCA or CIMA.
Able to demonstrate a track record of success within a business as Management Accountant / Assistant Management Accountant.
Able to use Excel to an intermediate / advanced level.
Ambitious - this is a role with a high degree of variety, a high degree of autonomy and sits in a growing business working for an FD who is not precious about holding on to all of his own duties! You will be keen to develop and willing to step out of your comfort zone.
Looking to qualify ACCA / CIMA over the next 18 - 24 months (the business will fully support ongoing qualification).
