Outstanding Career Opportunity for a Financial Controller to join aWarrington based £60m t/o rapidly expanding UK division of a £1.5BN International Manufacturing Group. As Financial Controller you will report locally to the UK Operations Manager, with dotted line reporting to the Board in the European Head Office, with the responsibility for managing the financial affairs of the UK division. Working as a key member of the local senior management team, you will business partner with the operations and commercial teams, providing performance controlling, management reporting, analysis and decision support. Your remit will include:

  • Accounting & Financial Reporting - in line with IFRS, local GAAP and Group policy
  • Monthly closing and reporting of financial statements to the Group
  • Preparation of full year financial statements and tax accounts
  • Liaising and managing the relationship with the Group auditors
  • Ensures that financial statements are always current in line with the Groups provisioning, ageing and depreciation policies
  • Performance Controlling - Development of a consistent and relevant KPI reporting suite
  • Provision of analysis and decision support to the Operations Manager and SSC senior leadership team in the UK
  • Supporting the management team in driving improvement in operating performance
  • Management and control of the company´s operating expenses
  • Appraisal and ongoing management of investments and capital expenditure
  • Management Reporting & Financial Analysis - appraising operating results in terms of profitability/performance against budget etc.
  • Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning
  • Local Tax Management
  • Treasury - Monitoring and managing the company´s exposure to foreign exchange risks
  • Working Capital & Financial Transaction Management
  • Insurance Management
  • Developing effective Financial Processes, Controls & Systems
  • Management, development and control of the company`s ERP and other financial systems
  • People Management - Maintaining a state of the art finance team

Applicants will be Fully Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA Financial Controllers with experience across most if not all of the duties outlined above. Strong SAP experience, Strong Manufacturing experience, Transfer Pricing knowledge and strong VAT knowledge are essential elements to this role and applicants must have prior practical experience in these areas. You will also have previously worked for a large multinational manufacturing business and will have solid technical finance competencies spanning accounting, reporting, tax, treasury as well as a track record of developing financial controls & processes and building & developing strong finance teams. You will be an effective communicator with a high commercial acumen gained through previously business partnering with commercial/operations teams and will be a driven individual with a desire to achieve the highest standards possible.
