This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a CIMA, ACCA or ACA Qualified Management Accountant to join a £60m t/o UK market leading business in a broad & varied role offering the real opportunity to progress to Financial Controller in 12-18 months. Reporting directly to an impressive Commercial Financial Controller your remit will be to prepare, develop & analyse key financial information and to business partner with the commercial team. Aa Management Accountant role your duties will include:

  • Managing operational and production costs and working to implement modern, more effective strategies
  • Development of robust management information systems to meet the current and evolving demands of the business
  • Monthly Management Accounts production including profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries
  • Ensuring that spending is kept in line with the budget
  • Supporting informed key strategic decisions and formulating business strategies - with a goal of driving business stability, growth and profitability
  • Advising the Management team on the consequences and financial implications of business decisions
  • Analysing financial performance and contributing to medium and long term business planning/forecasts
  • Negotiating on major projects, loans and grants
  • Interpreting and communicating financial data to non-financial managers
  • Implementing corporate governance procedures, risk management and internal controls
  • Assisting with the audit preparation work to allow for timely completion of the annual financial statements and corporation tax returns
  • Year-end income and expenditure forecasts
  • Maintaining records and reconciliation controls of approved budgets
  • Carrying out internal audits of various departments
  • Assisting with managing a team of accounting technicians and finance clerks
  • Carrying out continuous reviews of working accounting practices and processes to ensure efficient and cost effective operations

Applicants will be fully qualified Management Accountants - or final stage active studiers committed to achieving full qualification - who can demonstrate excellent analytical and logical problem solving. You will have a strong commercial acumen and a proven ability to communicate effectively with finance and non-finance colleagues at all levels of seniority and will be keen and ambitious, wanting to develop further with a view of progressing to the next level within the business.
