Finance Manager

The successful candidate will be a key member of the UK based finance team, directly supporting the UK and Group Finance Manager.

Finance Manager Description

Ledger Team Management:

Reviewing/management role:

  • Management of the UK processing team
  • Daily management of the Management Accounts team deliverables ensuring all deadlines are achieved and pro
  • Jointly agreeing objectives for the UK processing team, meticulously monitoring performance against set objectives and ensuring the team are functioning effectively
  • Ensuring communication remains fluid and pertinent between processing team and Management Accounts team
  • Routinely identify process issues and implement improvements to processes and controls
  • Ensuring there is cross training and coverage in the processing team positions when necessary
  • Super user for the ledger team information systems being able to provide guidance on how to resolve issues
  • Raising employee offer letters, contracts and holding HR inductions with new staff
  • Responsibility on payment runs for checking all payments/expenses to supporting documentation and preparing and communicating suggested payment lists for FD approval


Reviewing role:

  • Review of the monthly debtors report and cash report
  • Review of the weekly sales report
  • Review of the weekly cash report
  • Review of the weekly debtors report
  • Review of the weekly sales reconciliations

Financial accounting:

Reviewing role:

  • Review of the salary letter, reconciliation and salary journals
  • Review of monthly commission calculations
  • Review and of UK and overseas VAT returns
  • Review of annual P11D's and the PAYE settlement submission
  • Review of sales reconciliations / purchases ledger reconciliations / bank reconciliations / other reconciliations your team produces
  • Review of the balance sheet reconciliations as required
  • Regular review of debt levels and providing strict structure on where to apply credit control resources including maintaining regular interaction with sales teams
  • Liaise with Management Accounts team during month end process to ensure all issues are being cleared in a timely manner and communication remains fluid
  • Responsibility for ensuring compliance with UK and international VAT regulations
  • Liaising with auditors and tax advisors during reporting periods and coordinating the preparation of audit schedules / backup relating to your team


Essential experience:

  • Qualified by experience or professional accountancy qualification
  • Wide range of experience in ledger team processes and management
  • The candidate will have successfully managed staff
  • Knowledge and experience of a major computerised accounts package
  • Strong knowledge of Excel (vlookups and pivot tables)

Job Offer

The Finance Manager position comes with a competitive salary of between £45,000 and £50,000 depending on experience.
