Robertson Bell Finance are currently working with a leading, commercially focused Higher Education Organisation based in London to recruit an Interim Financial Controller. Due an ambitious strategic plan to see the organisation grow in size in coming years we are looking for a professional to join their friendly, but results focused team for a minimum of twelve months with significant potential to become permanent for the right candidate
As the Financial Controller, you will lead, coach and train a highly capable team and report directly into the Finance Director. You will be given the full autonomy to truly make this role your own and imbed the policies and processes, ensuring good practice. You will take accountability for submission of the consolidated financial results and reporting to senior management; lead on providing financial advice and support to all operations involved in commercial decision making and the growth of the business; lead the external audit, including preparation of the audit pack and liaising with the auditors throughout the process. The post manages AP, AR, fees and income alongside the Financial Accounts aspect of the organisation including three qualified accountants.
You must be working for a successful company in a role that has allowed you to pick up the requisite amount of experience to enable you to succeed in this role. Candidates from all sectors are highly welcomed to apply however those with previous education experience are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant with strong business leadership and commercial awareness; a proven track record of leading a team in a changing environment; have strong financial reporting skills and previous line management experience.
