Compliance and Forensic Accountant

London: £65,622 - £75,239

 

HMRC is the UK's tax, payments and customs authority. 

We have approximately 140 Compliance and Forensic Accountants within HMRC and by joining us you will be able to support HMRC’s drive to tackle avoidance and criminality – while making a positive difference to the nation’s finances. You will play an active role in high-profile issues and ultimately your work will touch the lives of everyone in the UK. 

Person specification

• At least 5 years post qualification experience which must include experience of companies and businesses in (1) a financial accounting, auditing or forensic role in an accountancy firm or (2) HMRC at the same grade or grade below as a compliance or forensic accountant or (3) a financial accounting or compliance/forensic accounting role in another government department or (4) industry as a financial accountant; 

• Ability to demonstrate expertise and experience at a sufficient level and authority to appear credible to courts, tribunals, accountancy firms, customers and senior HMRC officers. 

Qualifications/Memberships

Qualification from, and continuing membership of, the ICAEW, ICAS, ICAI, ACCA or CIMA
