This is an exciting time to become part of this international organisation, in an important role within the Group Finance Team.

Detailed Job Description

As the Financial Analyst, you will be working as part of the Group Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team, based at the headquarters in Birmingham and reporting to the Head of Group FP&A. You will be responsible for delivering decision support, capital allocation, capital management, financial planning and bid support to both the Head of Finance and Group CFO.

You will interface with both the divisions and group, with responsibility for a number of ongoing processes throughout the year, including the Group 3 Year Financial plan, Annual Budget, and Capital review and approvals both for inorganic and organic capital expenditure, to support timely and fit for purpose capital reporting and approvals.

You will have the opportunity to work with the divisions to provide challenge to the underlying make up of financial plans and to ensure that proposals are robust enough to meet the Group's requirements for investment. You will also own and develop the Group's reforecasting model, as well as developing robust financial models supporting the Group's medium to long term financial plans and, where necessary, bids.

Candidate's Profile

The ideal candidate will be a graduate calibre, qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), with post qualification experience, able to combine financial discipline with commercial acumen to meet the challenges of the role.

  • Ideally you will have trained in a Big Four, or top accountancy firm in Corporate Finance and/ or Transactional Services or a Group FP&A function of another large Group with global scale
  • Strong Excel modelling skills are essential
  • Exceptional analytical, presentation and IT skills. A working knowledge of Hyperion is preferred
  • A track record in successful business partnering and a strong relationship builder
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the confidence to articulate clearly and to challenge stakeholders. Also, with the energy, ambition and enthusiasm to grow and add value to the organisation
  • Must have the right level of judgement, drive and influence to be able to challenge the relevant division and to have a good understanding of the business dynamics
  • Astute, credible, proactive individuals will enjoy the challenges associated with assisting and influencing a successful business as it further grows and will benefit from the support and opportunities available from a progressive company
