Up to £35,000 per annum + bonus and benefits 

 

  1. OBJECTIVE
  2. To be responsible for the running of the monthly closing process, producing management information and completing statutory returns.  To ensure robust and accurate postings of financials.

  • KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

    Month End Requirements:

  1. Co-ordination of month end activities to ensure timely submission of accounts and supporting notes and analysis to parent company in line with published timetable
  2. Preparation and maintenance of balance sheet reconciliation ensuring robust documentation to support carrying values
  3. Ensure adequate documentation and working instructions for completion of month end
  4. Review of asset impairments
  5. Liaising with Auditors to ensure clear yearend audit
  • Statutory Requirements:

  1. Ensure adequate documentation of tax processes to ensure SAO compliance
  2. Timely submission of statutory returns and reports including but not limited to:
  3. VAT
  4. EC Sales
  5. Intrastat
  6. PPRS    
  7. Statutory accounts
  8. Corporation tax returns
  9. P11ds
  10. PSA settlements

 

  • Accounts Payable:
  1. Management of Accounts Payable function ensuring timely and compliant payment of suppliers and employee expenses
  2. Produce and analyse monthly performance matrix
  3. Drive the process of improvement throughout the accounts payable function, supporting the implementation of new systems and controls.
  4. Change advocate in respect of:
  5.   Purchase orders raised in advance and timely approval
  6.   Compliance with expenses policy
  7.   Receipting of purchase orders when goods / services received
  8.   Invoices approved within 48 hours
  9.   Perform training for new / existing employees on purchasing to payment process and expense system

 

  • PERSONAL SPECIFICATION (Skills required to perform the job)
  1.  Recognised accountancy qualification ACCA/CIMA
  2. Significant experience working with SAP, 2 of which performing month end closing
  3. Confident communicator, capable of building relations with internal stakeholders (Budget holders) and external stakeholders (Auditors, Analysts)
  4. Proven ability to deliver robust and complete accounts and meaningful analysis
  5. Good knowledge of GAAP, IFRS and Corporation Tax and VAT
  6. Good knowledge of Microsoft packages; Excel, Word, PowerPoint
