- OBJECTIVE
-
To be responsible for the running of the monthly closing process, producing management information and completing statutory returns. To ensure robust and accurate postings of financials.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Month End Requirements:
- Co-ordination of month end activities to ensure timely submission of accounts and supporting notes and analysis to parent company in line with published timetable
- Preparation and maintenance of balance sheet reconciliation ensuring robust documentation to support carrying values
- Ensure adequate documentation and working instructions for completion of month end
- Review of asset impairments
- Liaising with Auditors to ensure clear yearend audit

Statutory Requirements:
- Ensure adequate documentation of tax processes to ensure SAO compliance
- Timely submission of statutory returns and reports including but not limited to:
- VAT
- EC Sales
- Intrastat
- PPRS
- Statutory accounts
- Corporation tax returns
- P11ds
- PSA settlements
- Accounts Payable:
- Management of Accounts Payable function ensuring timely and compliant payment of suppliers and employee expenses
- Produce and analyse monthly performance matrix
- Drive the process of improvement throughout the accounts payable function, supporting the implementation of new systems and controls.
- Change advocate in respect of:
- Purchase orders raised in advance and timely approval
- Compliance with expenses policy
- Receipting of purchase orders when goods / services received
- Invoices approved within 48 hours
- Perform training for new / existing employees on purchasing to payment process and expense system
- PERSONAL SPECIFICATION (Skills required to perform the job)
- Recognised accountancy qualification ACCA/CIMA
- Significant experience working with SAP, 2 of which performing month end closing
- Confident communicator, capable of building relations with internal stakeholders (Budget holders) and external stakeholders (Auditors, Analysts)
- Proven ability to deliver robust and complete accounts and meaningful analysis
- Good knowledge of GAAP, IFRS and Corporation Tax and VAT
- Good knowledge of Microsoft packages; Excel, Word, PowerPoint
