Overview of the role
As a finance manager in the Trading Finance team, you will be the Finance Business Partner for one of four Heads of Trading, offering support, advice and challenge on six Trading categories (No7, Sun, Skin, Hair, Gifting and Indulgent Bathing)
You will work closely work with the commercial buying teams (c250 people) to maximise performance, provide decision support, analysis and hold the teams to account supporting the delivery of our trading plans. This is a fantastic opportunity to really make an impact with senior stakeholders in both trading, finance and across the wider business.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead key financial processes including budgeting, forecasting, month-end, weekly reporting and insight and monthly business reviews.
- Provide analysis and insight to highlight trends and drivers of performance
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with the commercial buying teams (Heads of Trading, Senior Buying Managers, Buying Managers, Assistant Buying Managers and Category Assistants) as well as a variety of stakeholders across the wider Finance team
- Work closely with your peer group of category finance managers to drive consistent, efficient and effective ways of working to support Total Retail
- Support all categories across the business to track investment in value for our customers
- Provide strong performance leadership for one direct report
Our Ideal Candidate
- A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with related finance experience
- A commercial thinker and the ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, who feels comfortable in challenging the status quo.
- Ability to have an impact and influence with senior stakeholders and to hold business partners to account
- Confident but approachable, you will possess excellent communication skills and understand how to develop strong internal and external relationships to leverage great results for the business.
- An ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accuracy whilst working at pace
- Experience in budgeting and forecasting, with analytical and organisational skills
- Proactive approach with the ability to identify issues and drive actions through to conclusion
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
