Elevation Senior Finance are currently recruiting a Finance Business Partner on behalf of utilities business based in Bradford.
Key Responsibilities include:
Provision of expert financial knowledge to the Distribution Leadership team to enable effective, commercial, strategic and tactical decision making, ensuring robust business plans are in place and give assurance over financial governance and control. The Distribution budget is large with £70m opex and capex, and includes the Services function which includes a separate P&L with £12m rechargeable income and £10m of capital income). This is the only individual P&L within the business and you will be responsible for setting annual prices, understand the profitability or losses on each charge, and be able to incorporate forecast changes to costs in services whilst understanding the regulatory framework and obligations.
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with significant post qualification commercial experience in a fast paced environment. You must have experience of working in a business facing finance business partnering role.
Essential Requirements:
-Full UK driving licence
-Finance business partnering experience at a senior level
-Commercial experience and acumen
-Ability to interpret and apply a legal contract
-Excellent influencing and communication skills
-Skills in building bridges across Business Units
-Strong analytical skills
-Experience of cost negotiation / contract management
-Ability to prioritise workload and delegate effectively to colleagues
-Ability to articulate complex information
-Able to see the big picture and identify key messages, while ensuring the detail has been analysed and reconciled
-Able to work effectively in a matrix style team
-Able to be assertive, whilst building and maintaining strong working relationships
