Detailed Job Description

You will be responsible for creating a ‘best in class' Management Accounting function as the business goes through a significant amount of change and standardisation of systems and processes, to fulfil its ambitious growth agenda.

With direct access to a high quality and ambitious Group CFO and a number of senior internal stakeholders, this role will be best suited to a dynamic and aspirational candidate that will work collaboratively with the Group Financial Controller to instil the highest quality working practices within a market leading group.

Core Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of harmonised Group-wide Management Accounting and Cost Accounting guidelines, processes and reporting.
  • Ensures that the business receives adequate financial information to support the identification of appropriate measures to drive continuous improvement in business performance.
  • Responsible for the production of an adequate monthly reporting with the necessary standardised and harmonised variance analysis and commentary to support Executive Management with the interpretation of results
  • Responsible for the annual budget process and mid-term plan as well as monthly and quarterly forecasts
  • Develops a group management accounting manual with consistent cost definitions, profit and cot centre definitions, cost accounting methods and processes
  • Partners with Group IT to ensure that the new global ERP template adequately supports the necessary harmonised definitions, methods, processes, standardised reports and ad-hoc analysis capabilities.
  • Analyses cash flow performance including working capital efficiency
  • Ensure an efficient group wide capex reporting, controlling and budgeting process

Candidate's Profile

  • A Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with a strong academic profile and top class degree from a leading university
  • Excellent understanding of Management Accounting principles, cost accounting and financial analysis
  • Leadership and people management capability
  • Experience operating in an international Finance function, preferably in a medium to large, complex matrix structure
  • Commercial awareness, with an interest in business and an understanding of how an organisation works and manages resources
  • The ability to explain complex financial information in a clear way
  • An enthusiastic and committed team player who can establish and maintain strong relationships with business leaders, across the Regional Finance teams and with non-Finance members of staff
  • Ability to build and maintain effective networks and relationships, both internally and externally and use these to inform organisational direction.
