The Position of financial Controller is responsible for the accurate and complete reporting of data required for the creation of local financial statements and local tax declarations for all in-scope EAME companies. This position is highly involved in all statutory and tax audits in the region. It has full responsibility for managing the effective use of the parallel ledgers in SAP.

Process responsibilities:


· Monitor and analyse department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Full responsibility for tax accounting and balance sheet reconciliation of tax accounts as part of US GAAP closing activities
· Full responsibility for parallel ledger management in the ERP system as well as regular ledger reconciliations and explanations for the difference between ledgers
· Ensure that all necessary closing procedures for statutory and tax reporting are recorded accurately and completely in the ERP
· Apply a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
· Full responsibility for the Statutory Reporting Requirements of the group and its subsidiary companies
· Key point of contact for the Country Tax Centres (CTCs) in local markets
· US GAAP Legal Entity data provision to CTCs for the purposes of tax reporting to Corporate (LR reporting) for Actual and plan data
· Key point of contact within the group on all technical statutory accounting queries and be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with CTCs and external audit teams (PwC and tax authorities as required)
· Thorough understanding of the audit process and ability to liaise closely with CTC contacts, auditors and tax advisors
· Planning and coordination of external audits
· Provide specific guidance and support on complex business issues and financial system issues so that overall control is maintained
· Ensure consistent processes to deliver data for local financial statements, local statistical returns as required and tax declarations in EAME
· Close interaction with other Centre of Excellence accounting teams (statutory accounting and tax related tasks). Playing an active part of the COE leadership team
· Projects (provide insights into specific local statutory and tax requirements)

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

· Fully qualified accountant or an international qualified accountant equivalent, with strong post qualified experience in a large corporate finance environment (Essential)
· English (Essential) other languages of EMEA countries highly preferred (e.g. German, French, Italian, Spanish) but not essential
· Previous experience in one of the Big4 - 6 Audit companies (Essential)
· Extensive experience in Tax and Statutory and tax accounting (Essential)
· US GAAP closing / accounting experience (Essential)
· Appreciation of local GAAP differences and adjustments from US GAAP
· Line Management experience (Essential)
· ERP System experience (SAP desirable not essential)
· Great analytical skills
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills required.
· Proven business partnering skills (especially with external audit teams)
· Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, meet deadlines and be able to thrive in a fast-paced work
