Marks Sattin are currently working with a Top10 Accountancy Practice as they look to continue to grow their well respected Corporate Tax team.
Job Purpose
Working closely with the tax senior management team to deliver a high quality corporate tax compliance and advisory service to clients at all times.
Job Role
- Review of company accounts for tax provision purposes and recommendation of statutory taxation disclosure
- Preparation of corporate tax computations in support of tax provisions to be included in financial statements, and for submission to the HMRC, together with the tax return
- Involvement in written negotiations on HMRC enquiries
- Provision of a high quality corporate tax compliance service to a portfolio of clients, ensuring that:
- all tax payments, and corporate tax returns filings, are dealt with on a timely basis;
- all appropriate claims and elections are made to minimise tax liabilities;
- tax planning opportunities are identified and, where appropriate, pursued.
- Provision of technical and tax planning advice to clients, working as necessary with managers and partners in Tax and Audit
- Providing support to the Office's business development effort to help win new clients and ensure the continuing growth of the office
- Dealing with ad hoc client advisory and planning issues
- Work with the wider UK International Tax specialists to provide a local point of contact focussed on international tax matters
- Maintaining an up to date technical knowledge of corporation and business tax, financial reporting requirements and related matters
- Supporting the development of tax staff in the team
Person Specification
- Practical Corporation Tax experience with good working knowledge of business income tax, personal tax and compliance work
- Some exposure to providing tax consultancy services to both corporate clients and their owners
- Experience of the tax issues associated with both inbound and outbound cross border investments
- CTA qualified and ideally ACA or ACCA, or equivalent
- Team player with excellent communication skills both oral and written
- Adaptable, organised with a commercial approach
- Ability to exercise judgement and work without close supervision
- Ability to proactively manage existing client relationships and to develop new relationships
- Ability to generate creative solutions to problems
- Ability to act as a positive role model for the team
- Ability to demonstrate and understanding of risk management issue
