Financial Accountant

The successful candidate needs to be personable, adaptable and confident. You need to be efficient, working to strict deadlines and managing your team efficiently. Previous experience in a similar role is essential and fully qualified in ACCA or CIMA would be preferred.

Your duties will include:

§ Prepare monthly financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis and provide meaningful commentary to aid business understanding

§ Prepare the journals, accruals and prepayments for review and sign-off by the Financial Controller

§ Prepare daily cash flow analysis

§ Conduct balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis and identify and resolve any queries

§ Maintain the Fixed Asset register

§ Create new reporting entities in the accounting system as the business expands including the set-up of intercompany transactions and consolidation adjustments

§ Prepare monthly Invoice Financing reporting requirements for review and submission

§ Prepare and issue the VAT returns for all applicable countries

§ Prepare all ONS and government returns

§ Assist with internal / external audits as required

§ Undertake detailed expenditure analysis and provide ad-hoc reporting as required

§ Build strong relationships with managers across the business, working with them to resolve any expenditure /accrual queries in a timely fashion.

§ Pro-actively identify opportunities to reduce operational costs

§ Identify and assist with implementation of changes required to financial processes and systems to enhance financial reporting
