This high growth business has made a string of acquisitions that have strengthened its market position and now wishes to recruit a Financial Controller to drive a number of key initiatives within the finance team and provide broader leadership to the department at a time of growth and change. This is an ideal opportunity for somebody who is looking for a role where they can make a difference and add value; take responsibility for financial reporting; create and develop best in class processes and controls and partner with key areas of the business. Given the number of strategic projects the business is running and broader change within the sector, it is not a business as usual role and you will be required to lead a team and manage resources to deliver outcomes on multiple fronts.
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will have a real opportunity to make an impact during a pivotal period for the business. You will have outstanding technical skills and a strong intellect, and thrive on being the subject matter expert in key technical areas. Enjoying interacting with Senior stakeholders, you will thrive on building relationships across the business and be able to communicate clearly and in an engaging manner. Experience of leading systems implementations and identifying process improvements will be very useful, as will the ability to operate at a strategic level and connect operational finance issues to the bigger picture within the business.
In terms of your background, you will have ideally have experience of the insurance sector and will have been exposed to US GAAP and Solvency II requirements. Demonstrable leadership experience and the ability to identify navigate through a period of business and market related change is essential.
