Here at the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA), we’re responsible for the efficient clean-up of the UK’s nuclear legacy. It’s complex but fascinating work that calls for advanced modelling capability. With unique and varied projects, our skilled analysts have a stimulating challenge. Join the team and you’ll be informing decisions that affect the nation’s future.

Our Modelling and Analysis team is responsible for creating models that deal with the key questions facing the NDA today. Projects involve considering many variables over a timescale that frequently extends 100 years into the future. Dealing with risk and uncertainty is an integral part of the role. Whether you’re supporting commercial decisions or analysing strategic options, you’ll be helping to decide how we deal with the country’s nuclear legacy.

Day to day, you’ll be translating large amounts of data into meaningful analysis. At the same time you will ensure models are developed to a high standard, complying with public sector best practice. You’ll be part of a central team working with subject matter experts (including nuclear specialists and senior business managers) exploring and presenting viable options to complex issues.

A good understanding of investment appraisal and HM Treasury Green Book requirements is essential. Advanced Excel skills are also key along with strong modelling capabilities. But above all, you must have a logical mind and good attention to detail. With this in mind, a financial qualification (such as CCAB) would be ideal with a science or maths background.

In this role you will be a trusted adviser to the business with strong verbal and written communication skills. Able to gather requirements and explain complex scenarios, you’ll enjoy working with others and being part of a highly skilled team.

Our office is based in Cumbria, close to beautiful countryside and with links to major towns. To join us in this stunning location in a role where you can make a difference, please apply now.

The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority is committed to encouraging equality, diversity and inclusion in our workplace and so if you’re a suitably qualified applicant we’ll welcome your application whatever your gender, race, disability, religion, belief, sexual orientation, marital status or age.
